2) SOUNDplay Festival

September 28 - November 25, 2018 www.soundtravels.ca NAISA North Media Arts Centre 106 Ottawa Avenue, South River, ON New Adventures in Sound Art’s SOUNDplay Festival is a meeting point for experimentation in sound art and new media, encouraging new avenues for exploration. SOUNDplay 2018 focuses on physical exploration of acoustic and virtual space by inviting listeners to physically move through space to guide their listening adventures. "As the production of gaming overtakes that of cinema for the top financial earnings in the 21st Century entertainment world, SOUNDplay 2018 examines the nuances of gaming and physical interactivity as a means of artistic sonic exploration. What new structures for organizing music, sound and narrative exist within these emerging media and how do they alter our articulation of space through sound?” – Darren Copeland, Artistic Director, New Adventures in Sound Art.

The presentation of Dutch multi-disciplinary sound art duo Petra Dubach and Mario van Horrik at NAISA is supported by a financial contribution from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Toronto in order to increase partnerships between Canada and The Netherlands and to showcase Dutch knowledge, innovative solutions and presentations within the creative industries.
